Living with Boys

My sons fill my house with loud, boisterous life.
They laugh and shout and fight and make lots of strange noises.
They slap each other on the back for encouragement or in anger.
Dirty looks and course language are often exchanged.
Sometimes, I think the ceiling will cave in when they wrestle and jump upstairs!
I scowl and frown and remind them to behave.
But inside, I’m envious.
I wish I could join them in their energetic youth.

  1. Bless your heart! From your profile I know that you have 4 boys. And I've seen your little Mary. You sure have a houseful! What a blessing! I have read most of John's blog and I am constantly amazed at what comes out of him. You must be proud. As a sister in Christ, I sure am!

  2. Anne,
How beautiful it is that you can see and appreciate the blessings of the fun and crazy antics of your boys. I join Mary333 in my praise of John's blog~ he is a special young man with his Mom's gift for using words beautifully.
    Blessings to you both!

  3. Anne,
I just wrote a post about my two boys and how I miss them so. It's so funny because I just read your post to my dh and we were laughing about all the times we were beside ourselves at their loud boisterous fighting and wrestling. I love the way you appreciate them at this phase. It won't last long.

  4. My boys found the nerf dart guns yesterday if that tells you anything about my boys! We were suddenly wishing for that kind of energy ourselves as well as a basement!!! :)

  5. I love this! It's like a preview of what my life will be when my own little guys are a bit older. Noisy and wild and fun.

  6. There's simply nothing like watching all of that raw, manly, brother-bonding in action!!!
But being on the floor underneath all of that wrestling gives a whole new meaning to: "The bigger they are, they harder they fall" doesn't it?!? ::SMILE::
